Filkins Reunion 2010.

Here we are again all back to Filkins Our 10th reunion Fabulous it is great to see every one and chat over all old times and good times in Filkins We all went to Filkins school,and at the age of 11 off to Burford We had a theatre club with Panto'sand Drama Football club. Bowls club which is still going strong. Tennis club And of course we allways had the Womens Institute The Young wives was another and then there was Laura with her girls club Such a missed person to Filkins Life goes on and hopefully we will all be back next year to have another nice time!!!

 

 

 

Tribute to Laura Farmer

I would like to pay a tribute to Laura Farmer who"s funeral was on March 30th. When I was a young girl in the 1940"s she started a club for us girls in a room in Cripps yard.We had a wonder time and did many things with her.

 One of my memories is  of going to Lord Faringdon"s and staying in a converted cowshed.We went in the evening and saw Glowworms up the drive.It"s something I have not seen since.

 We also did competions with the chapel and did very well.My memories of Laura she was always someone we could talk to and help us.Always interested in a boyfriends.I have many happy memories of Filkins and Laura.
