Those of us who live in the beautiful villages of Filkins and Broughton Poggs appreciate our many lovely and well-cared for gardens. For people with time to spare, joining the Gardening Club provides opportunities to go out together to visit gardens; to meet to discuss gardening issues and to organize an annual Plant Sale. Members of the Club have a widely varied understanding of gardens, plants and gardening techniques and those with no knowledge are as welcome as those who have accrued their knowledge over many years.
Originally members decided that, in order to be able to meet in each others' homes, the membership list would have to be restricted. In order not to exclude anyone living in Filkins or Broughton Poggs who wished to be involved, for several years the Club ran a core membership group and a Guest List. I am delighted to say that, as membership now exceeds thirty, we have amalgamated the two groups and we now have a single Membership List. Anyone who lives in Filkins or Broughton Poggs is welcome to contact me and I will let them have information about joining the Club.
As the Club is an informal group without a committee structure, its success depends on all the members taking a full part in its activities.
